WHAT INSTRUMENT HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY?

For over 25 years, The Guitarist has offered fun and exciting lessons to Santa Clara and the surrounding Bay Area in guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, drums and voice. We believe the best way to learn an instrument is with a REAL person, in the same room. Nothing compares to real time instruction to put you on a learning path and correct bad habits before they form. We want to go on your musical journey with you. We hope you will choose us to be your guide!

Obviously with the name The Guitarist, we have a lot of guitar instructors and students. Our instructors teach a wide assortment of playing styles that include Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Contemporary Christian, Classical and Hawaiian-Style Slack Key Guitar. Many of our guitar instructors also teach bass and ukulele. They are really talented!

WE TEACH PIANO, DRUMS, and VOICE, TOO!

As we have grown, we have added lessons in piano, drums and voice. Our instructors that teach these instruments are very gifted, patient, and encouraging (we could go on). Don’t hesitate to give them a try.

RECITAL and PERFORMANCES

We love to see our students showcase their talents. Several times a year we host youth and adult recitals. They are low pressure and lots of fun for family and friends to attend.

WE SELL, RENT and REPAIR GUITARS and other INSTRUMENTS

No guitar, no problem. Don’t let that hold you back. We recommend that you see us first before buying a guitar. As a music institute, we want you to play on a good quality instrument that is easy to play. That may be difficult for you to choose on your own, but it is not difficult for us. We will recommend the best guitar that you can afford. The advantage to buying our guitars is that we will inspect and set them up before you purchase them.

If you already have a guitar, you should swing it by for us to take a look at before your first lesson. If it needs any maintenance or basic repairs, we can do that for you at a very reasonable price. Again, we want you to start off right, and that means having a good playing instrument. We will even give you a loaner guitar (no extra charge) as we work on yours.

Send us an email here to set up your first lesson, or to schedule an appointment to drop of your guitar to be repaired, or to see our selection of guitars.
